Nebraska Students Can Win $1000 Scholarships

The Panhandle Research, Extension, and Education Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is offering annual scholarships of $1,000 each for 2025. These scholarships support students pursuing agricultural education and related fields.

Eligible applicants must have attended high school in specific Nebraska counties, including Banner, Box Butte, Cherry, Dawes, Scotts Bluff, and others. They should be graduating seniors or students in their first or second year of college. Applicants must enroll in any University of Nebraska campus or the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, with a major in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Technology, or similar programs.

A completed application must include a letter of recommendation. The letter should be emailed with the subject line “2025 Scholarship Recommendation Letter (Student Name)” and sent to dmccarthy2@unl.edu. Applications can be submitted online at Scholarship Application.

The deadline to apply is April 1, with recipients announced by May 1 via email. For further details, contact Deidra McCarthy at dmccarthy2@unl.edu or 308-632-1230. This scholarship aims to encourage students to pursue careers in agriculture and contribute to the industry’s future.
