Partnership Expands FS Presence in Eastern States

By Jamie Martin

GROWMARK, Inc. has announced that Farmers Cooperative, Inc., based in Farmville, Virginia, has become the newest FS Member of its cooperative system. The membership agreement was recently approved by the GROWMARK board of directors.

Since its establishment in 1947, Farmers Cooperative has provided essential farm supply products and services to members throughout Central and Southern Virginia. Today, it employs 32 full-time staff and continues its long tradition of supporting local agriculture and community development.

Farmers Cooperative General Manager Alfie Parker said the new partnership marks an important step for their cooperative. “Farmers Cooperative is proud and excited to partner with GROWMARK in strengthening our capabilities to serve our members and customers,” Parker explained.

GROWMARK leaders emphasized the importance of this addition. “We’re excited to welcome Farmers Cooperative into the GROWMARK System as a new FS Member. This aligns with GROWMARK’s commitment to expanding and strengthening the FS presence in the Eastern U.S.,” said Mark Weilbacher, GROWMARK Executive Vice President, Member Resources.

Headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, GROWMARK is one of North America’s leading agricultural cooperatives. It serves nearly 400,000 customers, offering agronomy, energy, facility engineering, construction, logistics, grain marketing, and risk management services. The FS trademark, owned by GROWMARK, is widely recognized among member cooperatives across the U.S. and Canada.

This partnership marks another milestone in GROWMARK’s ongoing strategy to build stronger cooperative connections and expand support for farmers in new regions.
