Southwest Nebraska is set to host the first-ever Drones in Ag Workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, an initiative by Nebraska Extension. This one-day event, scheduled at the Stumpf International Wheat Center in Grant, Nebraska, aims to bring together drone pilots and businesses that utilize drones in agriculture.
Dr. Dirk Charlson from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln discusses the growing use of drones in agriculture, highlighting the workshop's role in providing localized drone education. The event will cover drone usage in agriculture, licensing requirements, regulations, aviation safety, drone imaging, and spraying techniques, with hands-on demonstrations and piloting opportunities.
The workshop begins at 9 a.m. (MST) and concludes at 2 p.m. (MST), located at the Stumpf International Wheat Center, 76025 Rd. 329, Grant, NE 69140.
A registration fee of $20 includes lunch, and attendees can register online. Certified crop advisors attending the workshop will be eligible for continuing education credits.
