The Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has moved forward in its quest to find the next Director for the Nebraska Leadership Education/Action Development (LEAD) Program.

It has shortlisted three distinguished candidates, each set to showcase their vision and expertise through public seminars starting March 8.

The series of presentations provide a unique opportunity for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's faculty, staff, post-doctoral researchers, students, and the broader community to engage with the finalists.

Attendees will have the chance to offer feedback on each candidate, playing a crucial role in the selection process.

The finalists include:

  • Kurtis Harms, who will present on March 8 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Great Plains Room B, Nebraska East Union, with online streaming available for wider access.
  • Kimberly Clark, scheduled for March 14, also from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., in the same location and with online accessibility.
  • B. Lynn Gordon, who will make her case on March 26, following the same time and venue format as her predecessors.

The Nebraska LEAD Program stands as a pillar in developing future leaders within the state's agricultural and natural resources sectors.

The Director role is pivotal in steering the program's mission, fostering a new generation of leadership equipped to tackle the complex challenges facing agriculture and natural resources management today.

This series of candidate seminars marks a significant step in the selection process, emphasizing the program's commitment to transparency and community involvement.

The search advisory committee eagerly awaits the contributions and insights from UNL and the public, ensuring the chosen Director aligns with the vision and values of the Nebraska LEAD Program and its stakeholders.
