Rep. Don Bacon receives endorsement from NEFB-PAC

By Scout Nelson

U.S. Representative Don Bacon has secured a significant endorsement from the Nebraska Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (NEFB-PAC) in his bid for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District. The endorsement is a result of Rep. Bacon's longstanding support for Nebraska's farm and ranch families, as highlighted by Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) President Mark McHargue.

The NEFB-PAC's endorsement emphasizes Rep. Bacon's consistent recognition of the vital role agriculture plays in Nebraska's economy. Despite representing a largely urban district, Bacon has demonstrated unwavering efforts to serve the diverse needs of all constituents, including farm and ranch families across the state.

As a dedicated member of the House Agriculture Committee, Rep. Bacon continues to advocate for the priorities of the NEFB. These priorities encompass ensuring a robust crop insurance system, expanding global markets for Nebraska's agricultural products, and actively contributing to the development of the next Farm Bill.

Rep. Bacon's support extends beyond traditional agricultural concerns. He has backed legislation providing essential funding for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, locks, and dams. Notably, this legislation allocates $405 million for rural broadband development in Nebraska, addressing a crucial need in the state. Furthermore, Bacon has introduced impactful regulatory changes, specifically in the Hours of Service for livestock and insect haulers.

Mark McHargue, President of NEFB, expressed gratitude for Rep. Bacon's advocacy, acknowledging his efforts not only in supporting farm and ranch families but also in amplifying their voices on key issues. The NEFB-PAC is pleased to renew its endorsement of Rep. Bacon as he seeks re-election to represent Nebraska's 2nd District.

Rep. Bacon's endorsement by NEFB-PAC stems from a grassroots selection process, incorporating input gathered from County Farm Bureaus across the state. With this endorsement, the Nebraska Farm Bureau, representing over 55,000 families, recognizes Rep. Bacon's dedication to fostering rural and urban prosperity, underscoring agriculture's pivotal role in Nebraska's economic landscape.
