Nebraska Extension's Confronting Cropping Challenges (CCC) program is geared towards addressing current and emerging agricultural issues in northeastern Nebraska. The 2023 growing season has brought unique challenges, and the CCC program is designed to help producers prepare for the 2024 season.
The program, now in its seventh year, has received positive feedback from participants. It offers a 2.5-hour session starting at 1 p.m., followed by private pesticide applicator training from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This year, the CCC will be held in three different locations in northeast Nebraska:
Tuesday, Nov. 28 — Albion, Nebraska; Casey's Building Fairgrounds.
Wednesday, Nov. 29 — Randolph, Nebraska; City Auditorium.
Thursday, Nov. 30 — West Point, Nebraska; Nielsen Center.
An important feature of this program is the opportunity for producers to recertify their private pesticide applicator licenses, which are due for renewal in 2024. Attendees can benefit from this training without losing a year of certification on their license. This session is only for recertification; those requiring initial training should attend other courses offered in early 2024.
The cost for attending the CCC program is $10, but for those also seeking pesticide license recertification, the total cost is $70. This fee aligns with the cost of traditional private pesticide applicator training sessions.
Pre-registration for the program is available online, and those interested in more details can contact their local Nebraska Extension office.
This program represents a crucial resource for agricultural professionals in Nebraska, providing essential knowledge and certification needed to effectively manage their operations.
